Has anyone felt like messaging slows down the quick actions the Apple Watch was meant to have? There isn't a delete all function, nor is there a function that creates continuity between your phone and watch when you delete messages. I would like for them to be erased from all of my devices when I delete from either SOURCE. Instead I get the exhausted arm holding it up for ten minutes deleting messages . At least make this optional!!!!!

Hi everybody,in "What's New in watchOS 4" - https://developer.apple.com/watchos/ - Apple wrote: "Fitness apps can also access real-time heart rate data..." Currently I'm using a workout session in my app with a HKAnchoredObjectQuery to read the heart rate data from the watch. With watchOS 4,beta 2 it works fine but I only get a new heart rate every 4 seconds respectively a HKQuantitySample. For my requirement I need a real-time notification for every heartbeat but I can't find a suitable api for my requirement. Now my question: Is it possible to get real-time heart rate respectively the heartbeat in watchOS 4?Thanks for your helpLudi

I'm using Xcode 12 beta 3. When running my Apple Watch's target on WatchOS 7, I get this error: Warning: Error creating LLDB target at path '/Users/evan/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/audigo-cneguthkmmoulfgcprsazbryrlrl/Build/Products/Debug-watchsimulator/AudigoWatchApplication.app'- using an empty LLDB target which can cause slow memory reads from remote devices. I know this error use to be when running 32 bit frameworks on 64 bit devices, but I'm not doing that. Is this a bug? Or is there a setting I don't know of that needs to be updated?

In WatchOS 6 a presented .sheet could be dismissed by swiping down or tapping on the navigationBarTitle. In the WatchOS 7 beta, presented sheets are no longer dismissible by either method...forcing the addition of a button to dismiss. It appears as if .sheet is now acting as .fullScreenCover within WatchOS 7. Anyone else running into this? Wondering if this is now expected behavior on WatchOS or if it's a bug...

Hi. I am pairing my Apple Watch Series 5 to my iPhone running ios 14. The pairing is successful but unable to proceed with the set up because an update is needed to be downloaded first. I updated the os for watch but I keep on getting “Unable to Check for Update - Checking for a software update failed because you are not connected to the internet”. I am definitely connected to the internet. Watch was reset to factory defaults and I am now pairing it as a new device but it fails due to the issue mentioned above.

Dear Community / Apple, I would like to ask in the name of many Smart Home Community, There is any developing / There is any future plan about make Apple Watches able to read NFC Tags / Stickers? Many of us would like to use Apple Watch to use Home Automations with NFC Stickers, but we have to use our iPhone instead of the Watch, what would be the most logical way to use these things. We does not really understand why this was not added by default, and why we cannot find any official information about this? Please provide us some answer, at least we should know should we still wait for this feature or this is not gonna be enabled by Apple?! Thank you very much, Gery

I've been using CloudKit for my app recently and I'm trying to add support for a WatchOS app and I've enabled iCloud in capabilities and ticked the container I want to use but I get this error. Hi, I'm developing an independent WatchOS application, and trying to use background URL sessions to download new content for complication update. I think my download tasks are scheduled up appropriately, during a background refresh, following all documented guidelines from apple documentation. Everything seems to work as intended on the simulator. But when running on the real device (from XCode, using a self-signed certificate), the updates become quite unreliable (and the debug process is very frustrating btw). Most of the times, the scheduled download never finishes until the app returns to foreground. And I get the following error in the logs : BackgroundSession ... connection to background transfer daemon [interrupted | invalidated] I read that this might be due to a code signing issue. Does it mean that I have to register to an apple developer account to get it working on the real device ? (Needless to say that I'm not naturally inclined to subscribe while I'm not sure to get the app running as intended...) Thanks a lot for any help

I was trying out SiriKit Media Intents and found that with iOS 14, Media Intents can be handled in-app instead of using an extension. Given my current project structure, in-app intent handling suits my purpose better than handling it in an extension. But my question is about how this intent will be handled in a watchOS app? Is in-app Intent Handling supported on watchOS as well (if yes, are there any examples that I can refer to)? If not, can I create an extension for Media Intents and trigger it for watchOS while triggering the in-app handling for iOS alone? Please share if I have missed to read through some documentation / reference that solves this problem.

If a "Minimum Deployment Target" is updated to WatchOS7 on a product(iOS app with a companion watch app) that is already available on the App Store, watches running WatchOS6 will obviously no longer get updates. However, what is the experience for a user who has a WatchOS6 (maybe they own a Series 2) connected to an iPhone with iOS14? Will both the iPhone app and the Watch app stop getting updates? Will the Watch app stop getting updates, but the iPhone app continue receiving them and we have to manage this? Something else? Thanks in advance!

I've ran into an error with the insertRouteData function of the HKWorkoutRouteBuilder that I can't seem to find any information on. The error is "Unable to find location series 1A193D3B-AFF5-41D8-A967-B1BE08D9F543 during data insert.". It seems to only happen when trying to insert very long routes, in the most recent case it was a 5 hour bike ride with 5900 samples. I save all the route data in a sqlite table as backup and after checking out the data there isn't any red flags as to why it would not insert correctly. Has anyone seen this before and could offer some insight or point me in the right direction to find the source of the error?

I'm trying to build a WatchOS 9 corner complication with WidgetKit (using Xcode 14 beta 3). I'd like my complication to look like the battery one in the bottom right corner. Here's my view: struct HydrationProgressCorner: View {     var entry: Provider.Entry     var body: some View {         Text("\((100 * entry.progress / entry.target).rounded(.towardZero).formatted())%")             .widgetLabel {                 ProgressView(value: entry.progress, total: entry.target)                     .tint(.blue)                     .widgetAccentable()             }     } } How can I get my text to follow the curvature of the watch face?

Hey, so I am creating an app that will get the core motion data (accelerometer and gyroscope) from my apple watch and stream it onto a console. I am able to get accelerometer data but not a gyroscope from my apple watch. When I try it with my phone I get both. So is gyroscope data not available for the apple watch?

On Xcode 13.3.1, 13.4.1, and 14.0b5 I am unable to download symbols for watchOS 8.7.1, which is preventing me from developing on my Apple Watch device. The error I'm getting is a "403: forbidden" on the resource, with the more detailed error message showing on the Devices window: Work Apple Watch via Work iPhone: Could not download and install Symbols for watchOS 8.7.1 (19U67). Failed to download package from ADC. There are no valid accounts registered with Xcode that have the ability to access this resource. Contact Apple Developer Program Support to resolve account access issues. I am signed into a paid Apple Developer account, so I'm not sure why my account is not considered "valid".

Right, this is getting on my nerves now. iOS app installed on iPhone via Xcode. Watch app installed on Watch via Xcode. Both apps are running and are in the foreground. iOS app launches on iPhone and reports: WCSession.isSupported = YES theDelegate.session.isPaired = YES theDelegate.session.watchAppInstalled = NO theDelegate.session.activationState = Activated I press a button in the Watch app. It reports: session == activated and reachable iOS app delegate receives a message from the Watch app: didReceiveMessage (from Watch): message = {     action = giveMeUpdatedItems; } The apps must be installed on the devices in order for the Watch app to have used sendMessage (which is only available if the session is reachable, which it is). iOS app delegate passes that through as a notification to another bit of code that collates the info and sends it back to the Watch app. watchNotificationUpdateData; userInfo = {     action = giveMeUpdatedItems; } That bit of code in the iOS app checks whether we can send data to the Watch app, and doesn't send the data because: WCSession.isSupported = YES theDelegate.session.isPaired = YES theDelegate.session.watchAppInstalled = NO theDelegate.session.activationState = Activated If I remove the check for watchAppInstalled, I get this: Error sending Watch application context: Watch app is not installed. {     NSLocalizedDescription = "Watch app is not installed.";     NSLocalizedRecoverySuggestion = "Install the Watch app."; } I've deleted and reinstalled the app on both devices countless times. I've rebooted the devices, plus the Mac. I've reinstalled Xcode. I've cleaned builds. I've deleted DerivedData. And still it says the companion app isn't installed.
