Use Safari Plugins in WebApps (MacOS)

If I store a wep page as WebApp on MacOS, as described here: https://support.apple.com/de-de/104996

I cant use any Safari plugins in that WebApp

How to use plugins? is it blocked by MacOS/Safari generally? Does the Safari Plugin/Extension need to support this explicitly?
