Hello I've used the AppStore Connect API to download a sales report because I wanted to do a more thorough analysis. But I've noticed that, for example, when downloading the month of March, when summing up the units sold, the number doesn't match at all with the result I can see on the AppStore Connect website. It's a very different result. Like 3x or even more. Does anyone know why?

My app typically garners around 30 downloads per day as a paid application, predominantly on iPad and iPhone platforms. Desktop purchases are rare for my app, often limited to one or two a month, given its design is optimized for iPad rather than desktop use. However, in an unusual turn of events, I've observed a significant spike in activity over the past two days, with more than 20 paid downloads originating from the US—all from desktop users. This is particularly puzzling because not only does my app seldom attract desktop users, but the volume of downloads per hour has also surged beyond the usual rate, something I've never experienced before. Could there be any plausible explanations for this anomaly? We are talking about a paid app.

I've been asked to replace Flurry Analytics with Apple's Analytics Framework. I'm referring to runtime reporting of activity within the app itself... ie log event when various views are loaded or when certain buttons are pressed etc. All these log events are then uploaded and available for viewing by the app developer. I've never used or even heard of such a framework from Apple. I see a lot about Apple Analytics as an Appstoreconnect api for gathering sales and marketing data but nothing about the type of analytics i'm looking for. Any information about what is (or is not) available from Apple would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

On one hand: I download the following report from the Apple Store API: https://api.appstoreconnect.apple.com/v1/salesReports with the following filters: "filter[reportType]": "SUBSCRIPTION_EVENT", "filter[reportSubType]": "SUMMARY", "filter[frequency]": "DAILY", "filter[version]": "1_3" On the other hand: I download the report from the website, generated by: "sales and trends", "Event", and filtering by "event Type=Activations. If I sum the Quantity field of the events corresponding to activations (according to this other website), the daily activation counts differ between the API and the web report. The quantity is higher in the web report and lower in the API, averaging a difference of approximately 50%, if not more I confirmed that the events I should count in the API are: 'Start Introductory Offer,' 'Subscribe,' 'Opt-In,' 'Start Offer Code,' according to the website I copied above, but they do not add up to the total activations shown on the website. The same happens with "Reactivations." What could be happening? Thanks for everything

I have a MacOS app that is distributed through the App Store. I've created a campaign in order to track where installs come from. The campaign has a generated campaign token and provider token which can be used for tracking. Is there any way to retrieve the campaign token and provider token (which was used to install the app) inside the app?

Hi! I have a macOS app and it uses around 2x more CPU when it's not launched by the Xcode debugger. This is not about build optimization or anything. I can use the exact same executable, and when I launch it directly by double clicking it in Finder it's uses 2x as much CPU as when I launch the executable through the Debug > Debug Executable... option in Xcode. I did some CPU profiling in Instruments, and there is only one difference I could find so far when the app is launched by the Xcode debugger: There is an entry in the trace named CA::Context::commit_transaction(CA::Transaction*, double, double) | Quartz Core. This entry always appears. But - If, and only if the app is not launched by the Xcode debugger, this entry has a child entry _dispatch_async_f_slow which itself has children that seem to be related to dispatch queue "introspection". It looks kind of like this: v CA::Context::commit_transaction(CA::Transaction*, double, double) v _dispatch_async_f_slow > _dispatch_introspection_queue_item_enqueue_hook _dispatch_trace_item_push_internal dispatch_introspection_queue_item_get_info > _dispatch_introspection_queue_item_enqueue Now this alone doesn't account for the huge difference in CPU usage, but my best theory is that this dispatch queue introspection stuff is done all over the app, and cumulatively leads to the 2x slowdown. I'm running Xcode Version 15.1 (15C65) macOS 14.1.2 (23B92) M1 MacBook Air If you have any clue how to prevent this slowdown when the Xcode debugger is not attached please let me know. Thank you so much!

Hello, I'm wondering how the Small Business Program decides if an app should stay in. I read it's about crossing $1M in proceeds for the year. Just a quick check: Is this based on the App Store Connect analytics number, or do they look at other stuff? In simple terms, if I see less than $1 million in proceeds from January to December in the App Store Connect during a year, does my app stay in the Small Business Program? Thanks!

Hello, Regarding App Analytics for Private Apps in App Store Connect, I wanted to ask why the total downloads show the total number of redemption codes generated instead of the actual installs and downloads of users. Where can I find the real installs and downloads analytics for private apps in the App Store Connect Analytics? Thank you.

Hi, We are strugling to find out why some numbers in AppStoreConnect does not mach eachother. We have only 1 product - subscriptions in an app - nothing else. Yet - AppStoreConnect gives us: Payments and Financial report for oct: Sold - 1.545 units (which we translate as 1.545 subscriptions) Trends -> State -> Month ending 31st Oct says: 1.360 active subscriptions. I also went back to the very first months... Here I get: Payments and Financial reports: Jun-21: 106 Jul-21: 130 Aug-21: 135 Trends -> State -> Month ending: 30-jun-21: 5 31-jul-21: 125 31-aug-21: 156 So sometimes the number from one report is bigger than the other - and other times it is the other way around. I have read something about that it might be the dates, as the Apple calendar differs ... But that does not seem to explain things here, as I tried finding the exact date, where the Sold units from the payments report matched the state-report. Payments Jun-21: 106 State date July 24h: 106 Payments Jul-21: 130 State date Aug 8th: 131 So maybe the two numbers are stating different things - but what? It is of course important for us to be able to know which of the numbers we are to rely on when seeing the results of app-changes - and right now we know nothing, as there does not seem to be any logic to the numbers. We really hope someone can help. Best regards Nina

Looks like I'm getting the error "There's no information available for in app purchases. Try again later. 21102" The purchase starts, gets to in progress but never completes so I cannot grant the user any item in app. App info: I made a small test application with a simple purchase button and restore purchase button, the middle button as shown in the video that's clicked is the purchase button to kick off the transaction. If the service isn't working through the manage>test purchase in appstore>sandbox(not in-app), it is likely not a code issue from my end, it is either internally from your Apple side or a config issue on the apple account application end on my side. Ive tried deleting sandbox testers, new builds, as well as doing it on test flight. Just feel like if its not workig through manage>test purchase in appstore>sandbox then its def not a my problem Logs: <SKPaymentQueue: 0x281f4eb40>: Payment completed with error: Error Domain=ASDServerErrorDomain Code=3539 "There’s no information available for In‑App Purchases. Try again later." UserInfo={NSLocalizedFailureReason=There’s no information available for In‑App Purchases. Try again later., AMSServerErrorCode=3539, client-environment-type=Sandbox, storefront-country-code=USA} Any help would be great, this has been happening for a week now , and apple has been 0 help. Thank you so much for anything here.

I've noticed a significant difference in redownload counts for a specific app between the Sales Dashboard and the App Analytics Dashboard. While the Sales Report API indicates a redownload count of 6.93K for a 3F product type (implying re-download), the App Analytics Dashboard shows a much lower count of 636. I referred to the ASC documentation, which notes that restore counts are not included in the redownload count in App Analytics. My question is whether there's a method to exclude restore counts from the redownload count in the Sales Report as well. Seeking clarification

I'm trying to use the App Store Connect retention data to validate my own retention data and they do not line up. The opt-in rates, device numbers from the App Store Connect retention table and number of App Store Connect downloads don't make sense. Here is my formula from the retention dashboard: Device number for a date / % opt-in should equal downloads for that date or earlier. However, the result is always larger than my number of downloads. What is the right formula? Here is an example: 10-31 there were 21,327 devices reported on the retention table: https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/analytics/app/d30//retention?startDate=d%3A20231015. There was an overall opt-in rate of 16%. Total downloads should be 21,327/0.16 = 133,294. However, the reported number of first time downloads is 70,384: https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/analytics/app/d30//metrics?annotationsVisible=true&chartType=singleaxis&measureKey=units&zoomType=day. If I consider downloads from before that date it is 77,764. What explains this discrepancy? This occurs for every date, not just this one. The number of downloads reported on App Store Connect is always lower than I can calculate based on the opt in rate. What am I doing wrong?

Installed 17.2 Beta on 14Pro and since then the charging port is not recognized. Can only charge wirelessly. Took to Apple Store and was told its impossible to reverse to the previous version since they can’t physically connect to iTunes. Repair is $649 or I can trade it in. Everything worked flawlessly before the 17.2 install. The diagnostics show hardware is good as well. So to summarize, while helping Apple finesse their software they installed a bug that disables the port and renders the phone pretty useless. Way to go Apple!!!
